Gaming room at a glance
Angle Vale Tavern runs a gaming room alongside its bistro, bar and sports bar. The official Angle Vale Tavern website describes the gaming area and lists its own gaming hours, and the venue also promotes regular live music: solo performers on Sundays and a live band one Friday each month.
Machine numbers are published in two places and they do not match exactly, so we show both rather than picking one:
| Source | What it shows | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Venue homepage | 34 gaming machines | Marketing copy on the official site |
| Earlier venue gaming page | 32 gaming machines | Seen in an earlier check of the official gaming page |
| CBS register of entitlements | 40 machines approved, 34 entitlements held | Approval is a ceiling; entitlements held limit what can operate |
In practice, around 34 machines is the figure both the venue and the register point to. Numbers can change when entitlements are traded, so check the register for the latest position.
Published gaming hours
These are the gaming hours the venue listed on its website when we checked. Public holidays, events and maintenance can change them, so call ahead if you are travelling any distance.
| Day | Gaming room |
|---|---|
| Monday to Thursday | 8:30am – 12:00am |
| Friday | 8:30am – 1:00am |
| Saturday | 8:00am – 1:00am |
| Sunday | 8:00am – 12:00am |
Games the venue has named
The tavern's homepage names a selection of machine titles. Venues rotate games, so treat this as a snapshot rather than a guarantee that a particular machine will be on the floor:
- Dragon Train
- Grand Legends
- Where's the Gold
- Champions Series
- Huff N Even More Puff
- Year of the Snake
- Cats, Hats & More Bats
- Thunder Empire
- Bull Rush Stampede
Getting there
By car: enter "Angle Vale Tavern, 115 Heaslip Rd, Angle Vale SA 5117" into your navigation app. The venue describes itself as a few minutes from the Northern Expressway. From the Adelaide CBD, allow roughly 40–50 minutes in normal traffic, but treat that as an estimate and check live navigation before you leave.
By public transport: take the Gawler line north to Smithfield or Munno Para, then Adelaide Metro route 462 (or its 462C variation) towards Angle Vale via Curtis Road and Heaslip Road. The Adelaide Metro route 462 page lists Hail 'n' Ride sections along Heaslip Road and Curtis Road.
Route 462 is listed as running Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. It is not a weekend or late-night option, so plan your return trip before you go.
Before you visit
A short checklist that saves wasted trips:
- Confirm gaming hours with the venue on the day, especially on public holidays.
- Bring photo ID. Gaming rooms in South Australia are strictly 18+ and staff may ask for proof of age.
- Plan how you will get home, particularly at weekends when route 462 does not run.
- Set a spending limit and a time limit before you walk in, and leave cards at home if that helps you stick to it.
- Know that gaming staff can point you to support services, and that you can ask the venue about barring yourself.
What we have not confirmed
Some details appear on third-party directories but have not been confirmed from an official source, so we do not state them as fact: TAB facilities, a bottle shop, accommodation, parking arrangements, wheelchair access and accepted payment methods. Ask the venue directly if any of these matter to your visit.
